Biographies of Vestry Candidates

Get to know the candidates for our new vestry. We will hold vestry elections at our 334th Annual after the 9am service on Sunday, February 22nd.

Gale Jackson

I worked as a Registered Nurse for the State of Maryland for 24 years at Eastern Shore Hospital Center and  the Dorchester County Health Department. Ralph and I have been married for 52 years. I attended this  church as a child, and later I taught Sunday School at Christ Church and our children went to Sunday  School, were acolytes and also active in the youth fellowship. Many of my relatives are in the cemetery.  After retiring I became more active at church on the Altar Guild, singing with the Choir, the Lift Ministry,  volunteering at our FUN Dog Show, dinners and fundraising events. I feel at home here and the people are  very welcoming. I look forward to continuing to serve with the people of Christ Church.

John Moore

I worked as a manager in telecommunications services and manufacturing, with assignments in  engineering, product management and labor relations. Although Julia and I were married in Christ Church,  our careers took us to Baltimore, Harford County, and finally to Lehigh Valley, PA. After retirement we  bought our home in Algonquin. Julia immediately returned here, where she attended growing up. With her  encouragement, I began attending and was drawn to join and take confirmation classes. For about twenty  years I have worshipped here regularly, served once previously on the Vestry and more recently as  Assistant Treasurer. I feel that our church is now in a good place, both spiritually and operationally. I look  forward to working with the leadership team to further build on our successes.

W. Marshall Rickert

My wife Sue and I moved to Cambridge in 1999 and joined the Church the next year. We were drawn to  Cambridge for our retirement years by boating and all the wonderful things our Community offers. We  were raised at opposite ends of Maryland in Wicomico County (me) and Garrett County (Sue). We spent  our professional years in the Annapolis area where we raised two children and grew in our enthusiasm for  sailing and the Chesapeake Bay. I have served two prior terms on the Vestry and served as Junior Warden  for two years.
